Beauty/Lingerie Photography

A recent shoot with model Lini Kennedy from Next Model Management, New York.  The team consisted of makeup artist Margina Dennis and hair stylist Monae Everett.  The photo shoot features lingerie by Gem Pickett.

I love it when my work is featured on the model’s online portfolio.

Behind the Scenes at a Fall/Winter Catalog Photoshoot

Last week I worked with client Label and Thread shooting their F/W ’16 catalog.  They design beautiful sweaters.  This is my third time shooting for them.  It is always a fun, productive day.  Makeup artist and hair stylist Andrea Wilson with Next Artist Management is not only an incredible talent but she brings a great energy onto set. Our stunning model was Sofia Reynal from Wilhelmina New York.

Here are some behind the scenes photos from the shoot.

Nothing like a Makita portable leaf blower to get the hair going in the studio!

Can’t wait to see the final images on their website!

Denim Catalog Photoshoot

Last week had a fun day shooting photographs for a denim/jeans catalog for client Driftwood.  The models Vanessa Jorge and Mikeala Blumberg from Major Model Management NYC are both beautiful and a pleasure to work with!

Hair and makeup were provided by the talented Ellen Guhin.

A fun behind the scenes photograph of the client snapping some photos of the models for social media.

Fun Personal Profile By My Agency

The Angle Agency, my agent/artist representative has posted a fun profile on me in the magazine they publish.  I love the questions they posed to me.  I think the interview captures a small  glimpse into my life, my work and the way I think.

Plus the picture they selected of me is hot!

Artist Representation – The Angle Agency

After several months of discussion I am very pleased that I am now represented by The Angle Agency.

The first time I met with partners Christine Sausto and Ilana Allegro we hit it off immediately.  They are creatives themselves working on identity and branding for fashion and beauty clients. Their unique position placed them in a space where they could recommend photographers, fashion stylists, makeup and hair for jobs they produce.  The results they achieve builds trust and additional work for their people.

I am looking forward to a fruitful relationship and broadening my client base.

New Winter Fashion Editorial

The New York weather doesn’t feel like mid-December but my new work is adding a chill to The Angle Magazine.

I am quite pleased with my new fashion editorial “Silence of the Lamb”.  It was wonderful collaborating with creative director and stylist Julia Morris, makeup artist Marjo-Ritta Harkonen, Hair stylist Isaac Davidson for Artists at Wilhelmina, and our beautiful model Irene Stepanenko of Q Model Management, NYC.

Featured in the story is Julia Ramsey Knitwear, Hanro of Switzerland, and Ev Bessar.

Beauty Photography Featured on the Mola SoftLights Blog

My go to modifier for beauty and portrait photography is the Mola Demi.  I have been shooting with this beauty dish for years.  The Mola beauty dish gives me a beautiful quality of light, hard yet soft with a lovely fall off that creates lovely contours to accentuate shape and facial bone structure.

I am thrilled to have the good people at Mola SoftLights feature my work on their blog.  Their beauty dishes are an industry standard that is used by the best photographers in the business.  It is an honor to have them showcase my work!

New Fashion Editorial

I am pleased to share a new fashion editorial I photographed that was just published in The Angle Magazine!  Fashion stylist and creative director Uma and I drew inspiration from Mia Farrow’s character in the Roman Polansky thriller Rosemary’s Baby.

After meeting in Williamsburg, the crew all piled into my 1994 Honda CRV and braved the horrendous traffic on the Staten Island Expressway to eventually make it to our location in the heart of New Jersey.

The model is Elena Kantariia of One Model Management, makeup is Emi Koizumi, and hair is Isaac Davidson of Wigbar.

Men’s Fall 2016 Fashion Campaign

Very excited about the revamp of my client Member’s Only Fall 16 collection.  I had the opportunity to shoot the campaign and catalog earlier this year.  The iconic brand is updating the look into a fashion forward collection under the creative stewardship of Gene Uy.  Keeping and building on the original legacy collection, changing lengths, silhouettes, fabrics and details gives the collection a contemporary cutting edge look while remaining true to the brand history!

The model was Quinn of Request Models, New York. Grooming was provided by Hiro Yonemoto.

Noguchi at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden

Saturday I spent the afternoon strolling though the Brooklyn Botanic Garden to view the Isamu Noguchi exhibit which is on view through December 13.

I live near the Garden and visit a few times a year, usually in the spring for cherry blossoms or summer when the flora is in full bloom.  I was surprised to see how beautiful the landscape is during the late fall.  There were still roses and other flowers blooming, gourds hanging from trellises, fall foliage, etc.  It made a perfect backdrop for Noguchi’s work!

Upon entering we picked up a secondary map showing where the various sculptures were displayed.  The map was not exactly precise so it made finding some of the work a fun game.  I felt like I was embarking on a treasure hunt where each station provided a new visual reward!  The work, the setting, on an overcast, grey day was very inspiring!

The Garden was quite crowded due to a children’s Halloween festival.  It was sweet to see all the young kids running around in costume.  My reward was a pint of Six Point Oktoberfest which definitely hit the spot!
