Photography for NYC Knitwear Designer Label and Thread

I love working for New York knitwear designer Label and Thread!  They create beautiful sweaters, scarves and hats, are really great with styling the looks, book great models, and are really fun to work with.  We always use Andrea Wilson of Next Artists for hair and makeup. Andrea is extremely talented and a blast to work with. Her energy keeps the set jumping and her attention to detail makes sure each look is flawless. This season the client booked Dutch model Romy de Grijff from Wilhelmina NY. Romy is a stunning woman and a pleasure to work with.  She made my job extremely easy.

The day started off similar to most.  I arrived at the studio early to start setting up.  I like to be ready to shoot when the client arrives.  This way I am free to spend time helping the client with what they need to prepare for a day of shooting.  During the week another photographer had a job photographing food. My studio manager surprised us with a crate of assorted bags of tortilla chips. There were about 30 bags! Jokingly I asked him what about the guacamole? He came in with a bag of ripe avocados, onion, tomato and limes.  I spent the next 10 minutes making some killer guacamole for the crew and studio staff.  That was a first!

Unfortunately there was no tequila left over. Never too early for shots!

We had a really productive day of shooting.  Below are some of the looks from the F/W18 collection.  I am looking forward to seeing the images live on their website! If you would like to see some of our work from the current season take a look at www.labelandthread.com.

Romy and Andrea love my guacamole!

Fashion/Beauty with Wilhelmina Model Ana Marques

Early January I had the pleasure of working with model Ana Marques from Wilhelmina New York. The beauty team was hair stylist Monae Everrett and makeup artist Heidi Paul.  Love it when the agency uses my work for the opening picture of the model’s portfolio!  Ana was a pleasure to photograph.  I hope I have the opportunity to shoot with her in the near future!

Skin Care Beauty Editorial

I am proud to share photographs from a recent skin care shoot featuring a new face from Elite Model Management New York, Amelia Zerbe. The team created looks using skin care masks/treatments, having fun with fashion and beauty products that hydrate, exfoliate, and soften. The team consists of makeup artist and creative direction by Jamie Dorman, hair stylist Rachel Hopkins, and fashion stylist Britt Lovoi.

Holiday Inspired Fashion Advertorial

Very pleased with this beautiful photography featuring Brazilian beauty Victoria Lehmann from Elite Model Management, New York. Makeup artist (who also was the stylist on this shoot) Veronika Robova couldn’t resist using a bold red on Victoria’s gorgeous lips.  The full loose hair was courtesy of the talented Alam Ko.

The work was shot in my new studio against a huge cyclorama wall.

Wishing everyone a wonderful, festive holiday season!

Jewelry Ad Campaign – Beauty Photography

Last week I shot a jewelry campaign and catalog.  The client cast the beautiful Michaela Vybohova now with Major Model Management, New York. I had worked with Michaela a few years ago for a shearling outwear client.  Michaela told me that was one of her first jobs  after arriving in NYC.  The fun and talented Veronika Robova did an amazing job with hair and makeup!

Veronika is from the Czech Republic, Michaela hails from Slovakia, the reunion and relations between the two states went extremely well except for this minor skirmish with a Makita leaf blower.

The client needed a rush on the retouching and delivery of images in order to print banners for a trade show in Las Vegas he is attending; twenty-four hours later, here are some of the images I delivered.  I can’t wait to see photos of the trade show booth (love seeing my photos printed large), catalog and print ads!

New Lingerie Fashion Editorial Published in Lucy’s Magazine

My recent collaboration with stylist Britt Lavoi and makeup artist Jamie Dorman has just been published in Lucy’s Magazine.  We chose to work with a pastel color pallet.  I created a set design using pink and blue seamless paper and painted cubes.  The colors play off each other very well.  We selected to work with model Mal Dolgan from MC2 New York.  Mal is beautiful, fun and really captured the essence of our playful concept.
