Fresh Menswear Editorial

Last fall I connected with Vaughn Stewart, editor in chief of Cool America Magazine. We had a couple of great phone conversations and decided to shoot an editorial together for the winter edition of his magazine. He mentioned the possibility of using Forest Hills Gardens as a location. I took a drive out and we toured around the neighborhood. I fell in love with the area and saw endless possibilities of incredible images. Vaughn hit up a half dozen of the top New York model agencies and we both agreed that Braxton Claudill from One Management New York was perfect for the story. Vaughn tapped Brian Robinson, BDR Styling to create out looks.

Shoot day was a breeze. Although we photographed a couple of looks inside an apartment and on a beautiful balcony, Vaughn felt it was not consistent with the editorial feel of the story. Even though I loved the images, I had to agree. We piled into my car, parked by the local train station, shot two looks on the platform, a third look on the sidewalk, pulled around the corner and shot three looks on a side street. Might be the easiest editorial I shot, and I am in love with the results.

To see the entire shoot you can purchase the winter issue of Cool America or visit my website www.erichason.com

New Fashion Winter Fashion Editorial – Ebb and Flow

I have been waiting to share this fashion editorial entitled Ebb and Flow that I shot early this Fall. It was just published in Parsian magazine Kodd. If features model Alisar with agency The Management New York(I am happy to see that the agency is using 4 of the photos on her portfolio page). Fashion editor/stylist Erin Bookman dressed Alisar in layered looks from designers Dries van Noten, Off-White, Maison Margiela, Comme Des Garcons, Issey Miyake paired with vintage pieces from her own collection.

We decided to shoot the story in black and white. I incorporated motion and shot through painted glass in order to give a dreamlike feel to the story.

Hair stylist Jason Linkow, ABTP and makeup artist Maria Oviedo completed the team.

You can see the complete story by clicking here: Kodd Magazine

It is also featured on my website www.erichason.com as well as my Instagram account.

Here are a couple of images from the story:

Location Fashion Photoshoot At My Home In Brooklyn

Creative directory Alex Palomo and I created a stunning editorial for Genlux Magazine. It was our first collaboration. We spent a couple of months planning our next shoot based on his concept Cockatoo Inn. We planned a sexy, film noir, motel feel, inspired by tight sets and limited props to be shot in my New York studio. We put together a moodboard and started recruiting a team: fashion stylist Bex Vanderway, hair stylist Damian Monzillo, and makeup artist J.Patrick. It was our first time working with Bex. I had collaborated with Damian on a killer beauty editorial for Oob Magazine and was looking forward to working together again. J.Patrick had worked with Alex before but it was my first time shooting with him. We contacted Chad Thompson of Communa-K and he agreed to help with casting models for the project. He gave us some amazing options and we selected Monica Ollander of Ford Models New York and Melissa Cuc with Supreme Model Management.

After nailing down the moodboard I purchased some curtains, scavenged some rugs and was preparing to drag some of my Danish Modern furniture into the studio. My wife was not happy about transporting her curated furniture into my studio. Since everybody on the team was fully vaccinated against Covid we decided to shoot the concept in my Park Slope Brownstone. I was really excited by the prospect and after showing Alex what my home offered, he was pretty stoked as well. We spent a Saturday prepping models, moving furniture, shlepping lighting equipment around my home. We had a great time and were very excited with the images we created!

I have included photos in this post but check out my website and Instagram to see more!

Fashion Photography with Lizzy Yusuff

Fashion editor Nikko Kefalas and I created an incredible fashion shoot with model Ian Jeffrey – IMG and Creative Talent Management, for Paper Magazine. When agency director sent an email linking the portfolio of model Lizzy Yusuff – Marilyn New York I knew I needed to shoot with her. I sent the portfolio to Nikko, we both fell in love with her, and scheduled a date to work with her.

We used makeup artist Hiro Yonemoto, Art Department NYC who also was the hair stylist. We then created magic in studio. The shoot went so smoothly. No hiccups, no drama… just magic. Selecting the final images was our biggest problem… there were so many amazing photographs to choose from.

Below are some of the final selects. Please visit my website to see more!

Fashion and Beauty Photography In NYC – Recent Photoshoot

A couple of weeks ago I teamed up with hairstylist Cassie Carey and makeup artist JP Ramirez (represented by Blonde.Artists , a fabulous agency) to create some new work for our portfolios. We were working on a sexy boyfriend concept. For this shoot we cast model Emily Van Raay with Women360 Management, New York. I styled the shoot using button downs and sports coat from my closet. Emily supplied the lingerie since I don’t have any in my wardrobe.

The photographs we created exceeded our expectations. The main problem was selecting which images to use! The finishing touches in post production were executed by the fabulous retoucher Albina Annen who shares our vision of enhancing the natural beauty without going overboard.

Freshly Published Fashion Editorial!

Fashion stylist Jonatan Mejia met in February and started planning to produce and shoot a fashion editorial together. We had a date scheduled for mid March, and then the Covid lockdown made it impossible. When NYC started opening back up we revived our plan.

I recruited artists Jamie Dorman for makeup and Cassie Carey to style hair. We cast the gorgeous Viki Foti with Official Models as our muse.

The editorial, shot in NYC was just published in Awake Revue. Everyone is really pleased with the results. The images are stunning! Viki got the concept and took over!

Fashion credits include Dolce & Gabbana, Dior, Channel, Helmut Lang,  Desigual, and other luxury brands.

Boyfriend Denim Fashion Photography NYC Studio

Love this boyfriend themed shoot with model Gee Burridge with Major Model Management, New York.  Was originally going to shoot outside but the weather was not cooperating.  Decided to create a simple set using three muslin backdrops; one hanging to make a wall, a second for the floor, and a third to throw over props for the model to sit/lean on.  Very happy how the shoot turned out.  Gee is a great model and worked the clothing. It was tough to select final images.  Hair stylist Cassie Carey and makeup artist Dmitry Potapov did a great job creating beauty looks that worked with the clothing and setup.  I love the loose hair! When we had a break in the weather we shot a look outside as well.  Below are some final selects from the shoot.NYC fashion photographer Eric Hason photographs model Gee Burridge, Major Model Management New York in studio for a denim boyfriend inspired editorial.Model Gee Burridge with Major Model Management shooting denim boyfriend looks with NYC photographer Eric Hason in his New York studio.Fashion photographer NYC shoots denim boyfriend looks with model Gee Burridge, Major Model Management, NYCModel Gee Burridge with Major Model Management New York photographed on the rooftop by Eric Hason. Beauty Photography

Last week I got together in my studio with NAHA winning hair stylist Cassie Carey and makeup artist Dmitry Potapov to shoot a beauty test with model Gabriella Wilkens from Women 360 Management. Gabriella has soft, delicate features and long, beautiful, curly, natural hair. We focused on clean makeup and shaping the model’s hair. After we were finished in the studio we went out to the roof for some additional images. We are super pleased with the results. Gabriella’s agency thinks the images are stunning!

Behind the Scenes Video From Recent Fashion Photo Shoot In My NYC Studio

A super cute behind the scenes video from a photo shoot with my client Nue by Shani.  I love working with Shani Grosz and the team.  Shani creates stunning dresses with hidden shape wear that create a perfect silhouette flattering her clients. The first two thirds of the day starts with shooting looks for her line sheet and customer e-commerce usage against white background.  We then switch over to the creative, fun part of the shoot powering through  multiple look changes on four separate setups. We are clear and focused on what we need to accomplish. Backgrounds and props are planned out and prepared. The biggest challenge for this season was suspending large clocks.  The rigging and stabilizing was a bit time consuming but the results made the effort worthwhile!

Enjoy the video!
