New Women’s Denim Fashion Photoshoot

I am pleased to share images from a recent fashion shoot with model Lore Varga from model agency Marilyn New York.

The concept is a clean set using grey seamless paper rolled up exposing the photo studio’s cement floor giving a bit of an industrial feel.  Fashion is denim driven using accessories and set design to tie in non-denim looks. Hair is loose and wind-blown, makeup is clean with strong elements.  Lore’s look is very strong, beautiful face, thick, long hair, and a great figure.  Her posing and movement is strong, she really knows how to work a look.

Beauty Photoshoot with Myriem

Last month created a beauty photo shoot with Myriem, a gorgeous Tunisian model represented by Ford Models, New York.  We decided to use flowers to enhance the shoot and create a story, forgoing jewelry, fashion or accessories. Makeup artist Jonet Williamson created strong, clean looks and hair stylist Tamara Laureus created a soft, elegent flow.  The shoot was held at my studio in West Chelsea, close to the Highline Park, NYC.

Fashion Eyewear Advertising Campaign

I am very pleased to share photographs I shot for a retail client’s fashion eyewear campaign.  Brands photographed are Gucci, Miu Miu, Coach, Versace, D&G, Kate Spade, Michael Kors, and others.

Our beautiful model is Megan Martin from Next Model Management, New York.  Hair and makeup artist is the talented Angela Ivana who does exquisite beauty work.  Rounding out the team is fashion stylist Sara Medhat providing perfect tops to compliment the eyewear we were shooting.

The day was relaxed and fun. Here are samples of images we created for the client!

Love kids fashion photography!

All my adult life I have been volunteering with children.  I have done literacy work in New York City elementary and high schools for 10 years, a volunteer for Catholic Big Brothers for 8 years, and have hosted 6 foreign exchange students through AFS, each for a full school year.

It goes without saying I love photographing kids.  Where it is not a large percentage of my work, I find it fun and gratifying.  The younger they are, the more difficult it is.  Try getting a cranky two year old to stand on a specific spot, facing forward, and smiling while the clothes look well styled!

I don’t share much of my children’s work, but here is a new collection from one of my NYC fashion clients.  We shot it this spring.  I am excited to hear it is already in 50 stores!

Estonian Girls Rule! New Fashion Beauty Editorial

I am pleased to share my latest fashion beauty editorial published in OOB Magazine, Paris. Its all about the braids and fun, irreverent makeup!

The shoot features model Kersti Niinemagi with Women/360 Management.  I love the fun, creative braids by hair stylist Damian Monzillo and amazing makeup courtesy of Margina Dennis.  Fashion stylist Asanti Austin provided the cool clothing.

Photography for an Amazing Cause!

When I am not shooting fashion or beauty I love serving as the NYC Chapter Director for Flashes of Hope, a national charity that brings commercial photographers into juvenile cancer treatment centers to photograph the patients and their families.

Today I had the pleasure of running a photo shoot with photographer Shirin Tinati who specializes in actors’ head shots and makeup artist Marilyn Wise.  Shirin is also a cancer survivor which makes the experience all the more meaningful.

Working with this organization puts a lot of things into perspective.  The experience is grounding.  The kids are amazing.  The parents are strong.  The child life specialists, nurses, doctors and hospital staff are incredible!

Behind the Scenes at a Fall/Winter Catalog Photoshoot

Last week I worked with client Label and Thread shooting their F/W ’16 catalog.  They design beautiful sweaters.  This is my third time shooting for them.  It is always a fun, productive day.  Makeup artist and hair stylist Andrea Wilson with Next Artist Management is not only an incredible talent but she brings a great energy onto set. Our stunning model was Sofia Reynal from Wilhelmina New York.

New Winter Fashion Editorial

The New York weather doesn’t feel like mid-December but my new work is adding a chill to The Angle Magazine.

I am quite pleased with my new fashion editorial “Silence of the Lamb”.  It was wonderful collaborating with creative director and stylist Julia Morris, makeup artist Marjo-Ritta Harkonen, Hair stylist Isaac Davidson for Artists at Wilhelmina, and our beautiful model Irene Stepanenko of Q Model Management, NYC.

Featured in the story is Julia Ramsey Knitwear, Hanro of Switzerland, and Ev Bessar.
