Summer in the Studio! Photography for Swimwear Catalog

I love working with my swim client Kuleana! Their swimwear is beautifully designed and cut to compliment a women’s physique. They use beautiful fabric with fun patterns and great colors. We have assembled a great team so the day runs smooth and efficiently. Monae Everrett provides hair and makeup. She gives us a natural beachy beauty look. Below is a photo of model Becky Boggs from State Management New York. Becky is great, giving a variety of looks and nailing it each time. This was our last shoot for the Summer 2018 collection. Can’t wait to start photographing the next collection starting in May! Ironically, next week I will be shooting for a fur client.

When Photographer becomes Fashion Model, and Vice Versa!

For years I have worked regularly with sports and fitness, fashion, and lifestyle model Jam Murphy of Wilhelmina Models, New York. We have become friends as well. Jam is an incredible model with a beautiful, open spirit. Besides modeling Jam produces music and owns a very cool lipstick brand Ice + Jam. Ice and Jam formulates amazing products using replenishing ingredients with bold, fun colors to beautify and care for your lips. The company ethos emphasizes sustainability, health and personal empowerment. With colors such as “Thank You Come Again”, “Lesbehonest” and “Ouch, Ouch, You’re On My Hair!”…

Jam asked me to photograph her modeling her in their new “Empower Your Lips” tee. I was thrilled to say of course. She wanted to have some of her friends model as well, but due to scheduling only she was available. After Jam finished being photographed, in she tried to poach some male models from another shoot, but no luck. She asked the studio manager if he would model, but Kenny is shy. Jokingly I offered to model for her. Jam jumped right on that and the next thing I knew I was on set being styled and photographed by Jam.

I may be no Jam, but I think I hold my own in this photo. If you need a short, older male model, feel free to reach out!

Ecommerce and Lifestyle Social Media Campaign for Denim Client

Yesterday I had the pleasure to shoot for my client Vigoss, a women’s denim designer. We spent the day with APM New York beauties Michelle and Kayla photographing images for their e-commerce site and lifestyle images for their social media campaign. Behind the Scenes from a Catalog shoot

Once photography stops being fun I am going to quit.

Yesterday I had the pleasure shooting with Lindsay Phenix from Red Model Management NYC and Olga Kubrak from Major Models New York. It was a long day with lots of looks but we keep it light and have some fun in the studio on and off set. At one point Olga accused me of being a very serious photographer; my makeup artist Veronika Robova rolled her eyes. We are professionals, we take our work very seriously, but lets face it, this fashion photography and the object is to have fun making beautiful photos that sell clothing and a lifestyle.

Houston native Lindsay Phenix is inspired by the UT orange and flashes the “hook ’em horns” sign. Unfortunately the Longhorns are 3 and 5 this season. The bbq still kicks ass!

Fun on an E-commerce Photo Shoot

I was hired to shoot for a new e-commerce retail start-up. A long, busy day shooting a lot of looks which was kept light and fun by an outstanding crew; of course beautiful models and great clothing help lift the spirits as well!

Although the pace of the shoot was quite fast I always make sure the photos are beautiful and that we capture moments that reflect the spirit of the day!

Thanks to Major Models for sending us two beauties: Nejilka Arias and Veronica Montano (winner of Top Latina Model!). The lovely Veronika Robova did hair and makeup. Special props for stylist Luna Andrews who kept the shoot moving!
