Love My Menswear Clients!

Most of my clients are women’s wear.  Although their garments are beautiful, they won’t work for me.

I was thrilled to receive a package from my client Member’s Only on Monday containing a killer distressed faux-leather bomber jacket!   A few months ago I shot a campaign on the mean streets of Brooklyn with model Tyler James from Q.  The photos came out great great, but I thought I could improve on Tyler’s posing skills.  I grabbed my MO jacket, my dog, and a Tecate from the fridge, my camera and my son in order to recreate a photo from the campaign (my son snapped the photo).

I think I better stick to photography and let Tyler do the modeling!  I don’t think I have to specify who is the photographer and who is the model!  Hoshi (the vizsla) is a keeper!

Menswear – Fashion Lifestyle in Brooklyn

I received a request from my client Member’s Only to shoot a half day of fashion lifestyle, mostly for social media campaigns.  Very loose, no big deal.

The client wanted to shoot in studio.  Since there was no product, lookbook, line sheet or e-commerce images to photograph, I suggested we meet at my house and shoot on the street.  They were very excited by the idea.  I knew they would get a wider variety of images plus it is always nice to get out of the studio.  Also October daylight is magnificent.  The sun is low in the sky and has a very warm effect.

They client cast male model Tyler James from Q Model Management, NYC.

The team met at my house in the early afternoon.  My 2 year old female vizsla Hoshi greeted everyone in her typical way, with a few minutes of suspicious barking.  When she warms up, she is then quite affectionate.

We quickly started shooting on the stoop of my Park Slope brownstone.  We started with no props, then added Hoshi and a Tecate.  Tyler took to both props very nicely.  We migrated two blocks away to Prospect Park, shot a couple of looks there.  Then we jumped in my car and headed to Red Hook, an area that I love shooting in.  It has a very cool, barren, industrial feel, even post Fairway and Ikea gentrification.

We had a fun day outside!  Tyler is great. The client is thrilled. and now for some pictures (straight out of camera, no retouching).  I look forward to seeing their selects used in their social media!
